Ah, it’s time.
If you’ve been here before, you may have heard of my 25 Things List – a nearly self-explanatory list of items I hoped to accomplish before I turned 25. While I didn’t accomplish everything on my list before I turned 25, this list entirely changed my life, and myself as a result.
Feeling in a similar state of indecisiveness as I was when I began my 25 Things List, I’ve decided to embark on a 35 Things List.
My 25 Things List was so successful, I always thought I’d begin a 50 before 50 at some point, but it’s time to rekindle some of the adventure, discovery, and goal-achieving spirit of the 25 Things List.
Meet my 35 Things List. By the time I’m 35, each of these will be checked off the list.
Goals that have been completed turn blue.
35 Things To Do Before I Turn 35:
- Self-publish my own book of poems. (Lifelong dream that I need to achieve)
- Write a short story inspired by a place I’ve traveled to. (Travel 🤝 Writing)
- Participate in NaNoWriMo. (I’ve been meaning to do this for years, and it’s one achievable goal to help me reach even more of my writing goals)
- Pay off my student loans. (We’re so close, baby)
- Get Italian citizenship. (Say less 🤌)
- Record our family history – have chats with family members. (There are so many stories that I want to put pen to paper for)
- Read every book I physically own. (The physical TBR is outrageous, someone’s gotta get this thing under control)
- Track my reading better and consistently. (I need to keep a better record somewhere!)
- Do a 24-hour read-a-thon. (I just want to indulge in severallllll hours of reading)
- Document my F. Scott Fitzgerald adventures in one place. (There have been many)
- Get off the Fairyloot waitlist. (👀 Looking at you, Fairyloot)
- Paint a jewelry box for Rose’s jewelry. (Rose’s jewelry deserves a beautiful home, and I have just the place for it)
- Go on a beekeeping adventure. (I have been dying to do this for yearsssss and I need to make it happen)
- Dabke at St. Maron’s festival. (I watch from the sidelines every year, but no longer!)
- Become a pilates girlie. (We’re trying to be stronger and calmer)
- Get a hot stone massage. (Capricorn girlies need to relax, too, okay?)
- Go dog-sledding. (Have always wanted to do this, and recently uncovered photos of me doing this as a child?! What?! Not little me living out my dreams. Anyway, need to do this again so I can have more memories.)
- Do a themed drinks and snacks night based on a book, movie, or TV series. (We need a fun little creative night to unwind)
- See a psychic. (Just curious)
- Get a tea leaf reading done. (Trying to be in my Professor Trelawney era)
- Do a HausWitch box. (I love HausWitch and I’ve been wanting to try their mystery boxes)
- Go stargazing at an observatory. (Want to be scared by the enormity of the unknown out there)
- Attend a Vampire Diaries Convention. (Hello, brother)
- Learn how to waltz. (Technically I already know how but also technically I have forgotten)
- Go to a bookish ball event. (I drool over these every year and I might as well drool over one in-person)
- Attend a rodeo. (It would literally be my first rodeo)
- See R+J on Broadway before it’s gone. (ICONIC I NEED IT)
- Go to the Ripped Bodice in LA and get my matching pin. (ALSO ICONIC AND ALSO I NEED IT)
- Make the trek to Everest Base Camp. (It’s been too long)
- Go on a National Geographic trip. (Nat Geo, I’m still obsessed with you, baby)
- Visit an archaeology site. (I will cry)
- Own the huge dragon Jellycat. (I don’t even feel like I need to explain myself on this one)
- Own a Polene bag. (I don’t even feel like I need to explain myself on this one, either)
- Start a time capsule to myself. (I’m a nostalgic bitch, ok?)
- Buy my own home. (Fine, I guess I’ll settle down. Or at least as close to settling down as is possible for me 🙃)
